I have been playing CANASTA for over 30 years and teaching the game of Modern CANASTA for the last 4 years in my home on the UES. I have also taught at the 92 St.Y. I have seen many changes during that period of time.

CANASTA is a game of melds and strategies..  My course consists of three 2-hour lessons with a minimum of 4 players. You learn in a relaxed leisurely atmosphere. I start by giving each player a copy of Modern CANASTA instructions which we discuss. Play then begins with guidance from me and games are then played to completion. At the first lesson $180 (cash) is due per person. This covers all three sessions. After 3 lessons, I feel confident that you will be able to play at a beginner table, and join us for an afternoon of fun at our weekly CANASTA game.  See ‘Events’ page.
